TGF-$g(b)1/$g(b)2: A NOVEL CHIMERIC TRANSFORMING GROWTH FACTOR-BETA |
abstract |
The invention relates to the production of large quantities of a new chimeric beta growth transforming factor called TGF-beta1 / beta2, using eukaryotic host cells transfected with recombinant DNA vectors containing the coding sequence of TGF precursor. -beta1 / beta2 regulated by expression regulating elements. Complementary DNA was modified from TGF-beta1 simien (Sharples) et al. 1987, DNA 6: 239-244) so that the nucleotides coding for the amino acid residue numbers 9-13, 17, 19, 25 and 26 of the mature TGF-beta1 sequence were suspended on the nucleotides coding for the corresponding amino acids of the mature TFG-beta2 structure. The use of simian codon has been maintained. The chimeric TGF-beta1 / beta2 of the invention induces effects on the proliferation of vascular endothelial cells equivalent to those induced by TGF-beta1 (see section 7., et seq.). |
