Method for directing a cellular reaction in a mammal by the expression in a mammalian cell of a chimeric receptor which causes the cells to recognize and specifically destroy an infectious agent, a cell infected with an infectious agent, a tumor cell or cancerous, or a cell generated by an autoimmune reaction. Also described are cells which express chimeric receptors and DNA encoding these chimeric receptors. |
