Recombinant DNA molecules |
abstract |
The invention relates to a recombinant mammalian granulocyte, macrophage-colony stimulating factor (GM-CSF) as encoded by a recombinant DNA comprising a DNA sequence coding for mammalian GM-CSF, said DNA sequence being derived from natural, synthetic or semi-synthetic sources and further comprising a DNA sequence selected from the DNA inserts of pGM 37 and pGM 38, said inserts being contained in the multiple cloning site of the parent plasmid pJL 3 and being the DNA inserts of recombinant DNA molecules carried by deposited microorganisms and/or a DNA sequence which hybridizes to said inserts and codes for a mammalian GM-CSF. The recombinant mammalian GM-CSF of the present invention can be used for stimulating granulocyte and macrophage production from the respective progenitor cells of said granulocytes and macrophages. |
