A medical sensor for monitoring vital signs, in particular oxygen saturation, consists of flexible carrier means (26) carrying the transmitter (7,16a,16b) and receiver elements (8,17a,17b), and a housing element (27) specifically adapted for application to a part of the human body, such as a finger (32). Flexible carrier (26) may be used with a variety of different housing elements, such that it can be applied to virtually any limb or other part of the human body. |
