abstract |
A method of separating or distinguishing proteins by the isoelectric focusing technique (TFI) comprises fluorescent labeling of proteins by reacting monobromobimane or monochlorobimane with free sylphydryl groups of proteins, and subjecting the labeled proteins to the focusing technique isoelectric. A second step of electrophoretic separation can be carried out thereafter, which makes it possible to obtain a two-dimensional electrophoresis of proteins premarked by fluorescence by means of a method which has hitherto been impossible to implement. |
