abstract | A pattern recognition subsystem A responds to a feature representation input A to select a category representation A and predicts a category representation B and its associated feature representation input B. During the learning experiences, a predicted categorical representation B is compared to that obtained by means of a configuration recognition subsystem B. If the association is bad, a parameter for monitoring the configuration recognition subsystem A amplifies its activity to cause the initial selection of the categorical representation to be reset. The entries in the configuration recognition subsystems can be preprocessed to perform additional coding of said entries. |
