A method of imparting acid dye stain resistance to polyamide substrates characterized by improved durability of stain resistance after detergent washes, comprising treating the polyamide substrate with an effective amount of a blend of ether copolymer phenyl vinyl / maleic diacid and a 2- (4-hydroxymethyl-phenoxy) ethyl / maleic diacid vinyl ether copolymer, in which the phenyl vinyl ether / maleic diacid copolymer is the stain resistant agent , said 2- (4-hydroxymethyl-phenoxy) -ethyl / maleic diacid vinyl ether copolymer being added to improve the durability of the stain resistant agent. |
