titleOfInvention | TREATMENT OF AN AUTOPHORETIC COATING WITH THE AID OF ALKOLIC AGENTS CONTAINING ORGANOPHOSPHONATEIONS. |
abstract | The adhesion and/or corrosion resistance of a self-deposited coating can be improved by rinsing the uncured coating with an aqueous treatment solution, the pH of which is between 7 and 11 and which contains between 0 .05 and 5% by weight of anions derived from phosphonic acids, preferably anions of 1-hydroxyethylidene-1,1-diphosphonic acid. The process is particularly effective on leaf springs or other high carbon and/or grit blasted steel metallic objects, as well as in combination with an autodeposition bath containing an internally stabilized polyvinylidene chloride latex, hydrofluoric acid, ferric fluoride and hydrogen peroxide. |
