A production process for halides of divalent germanium as adducts with an ether, in particular adducts with the formula GeX₂ · (C₄H₈O₂), where X is preferably chlorine or bromine and is preferably used as ether 1,4-dioxane is described. Germanium tetrahalides can be reduced to the target compounds in a single step reaction and in high yields in the presence of an ether, an organosilane and at least catalytic amounts of a metal hydride. |
