This invention relates to a composition comprising a material based on tramadol and acetaminophen, and to the use thereof. In this invention, the term tramadol refers to various forms of tramadol. These compositions are pharmacologically useful for treating pain and tussive states, and they have fewer opioid side effects such as the risk of misuse, tolerance, constipation and respiratory depression. In addition, in the case where the components of the compositions are provided in certain proportions the pharmacological effects of the compositions are synergistic (that is to say that they combine and are added). |
