titleOfInvention | USE OF THE HUMAN TYPE I GROWTH FACTOR CLOSE TO INSULIN (IGF-I). |
abstract | This invention relates to the use of IFG-I of human origin or effective analogs thereof, for the manufacture of a medicament for preventing or treating heart disorders. More specifically, this drug is used to stimulate the protein system of the heart muscle, to prevent or treat cardiomyopathies, acute heart failure or acute accidents such as myocarditis or myocardial infarction and to improve cardiac output by increasing the systolic volume of the heart, for example to treat myocardial infarction. The invention also relates to a composition consisting of IGF-I of human origin or analogues thereof, and added proteins or peptides such as other growth factors, hormones, proteins or binding receptors which stimulate or improve the desired effect (s) of IGF-I or its effective analogues, and optionally consists of a pharmaceutically acceptable excipient or diluent for preventing or treating cardiac disorders. |
