titleOfInvention A method of analysis of fatty acids in triacylglycerols
abstract The present invention relates to a method for determination of structural information of a triacylglycerol or a mixture of triacylglycerols. Tn the method it is generated molecular or quasi-molecular ions and the ions are resolved into fractions of a particular mass/charge ratio. The selected ions are collisionally activated, forced to decompose into fragment ions which are then resolved into fragments of a particular mass/charge ratio. The relative abundance of information received from the fraction and fragments and the mass/charge ratio information are used to determine the structure of the triacylglycerol and the proportions of the triacylglycerols in the mixture of triacylglycerols.
