titleOfInvention | Method for the quantitative determination of a free form of substances present in biological fluids |
abstract | Disclosed is a method for determining the free fraction of analytes present in biological fluids in a free form which is in equilibrium with a form bound to one or more endogenous ligands. This method comprises:n a) contacting the biological fluid with a first exogenous ligand L1, capable of sequestering an analyte quantity proportionate to said free-fraction; b) contacting the L1/analyte complex so obtained, preferably after removal from the biological fluid of the endogenous ligand, with a dissociating agent able to dissociate the sequestered analyte, and with a labelled analyte, in the presence of a second ligand capable of binding both the dissociated and the labelled analyte; c) measuring the quantity of the either bound or unbound labelled analyte . |
