The invention relates to flat polyethylene terephthalate materials with a low surface roughness from dendritic, plateau-like structures with a jagged, fractal edge, a process for their production by irradiating the surfaces with UV radiation generated by the decay of excimers, and the use of polyethylene terephthalate films treated in this way as a substrate material for ferromagnetic metal thin films. |
