Human phospholipase activating protein and methods for diagnosis of rheumatoid arthritis |
abstract |
Methods for detecting elevated levels of the phospholipase A2 activation protein in people who are believed to have rheumatoid arthritis for the purpose of indicating rheumatoid arthritis in the person include the steps of following: use of a fluid or tissue sample from said person's body; contacting the sample with a specific antibody against the phospholipase A2 activating protein so that the antibody binds to the phospholipase A2 activating protein in the sample; detection of the antibody thus indicating the presence of the phospholipase A2 activating protein so that high levels of phospholipase A2 activating protein in the sample compared to levels found in people not suffering from rheumatoid arthritis indicates the presence of rheumatoid arthritis in the person in question. Rheumatoid arthritis detection kits and reagents are also described. |
