titleOfInvention | Use of IL-4 and TNF for the preparation of a medicament for the treatment of tumour cells |
abstract | A composition of matter which comprises Tumor Necrosis Factor (TNF) and Interleukin-4 (IL-4) has been disclosed. This composition inhibited the growth of human breast cancer cells, human vulvar carcinoma cells and human histiocytic lymphoma cells a dose-dependent manner. The growth characteristics of human breast cancer cells were minimally affected when exposed to TNF or IL-4 alone. However, the combination of these two cytokines together inhibited the growth of these cells in a dose-dependent manner. Additionally, interferon-gamma (IFN-g) caused a further potentiation of the antiproliferative effects of the TNF and IL-4 composition. |
