Apparatus and method for treating blood, comprising entering the blood (B) into a container (11), into which essentially the insoluble fats (or lipids) (L) are discriminatively extracted from the blood (B) as as the blood (B) flows or rises inside the container (11), preferably by means of a wick (47) which is in the container (11), as the blood level (B) in the container (11) rises around the wick (47), so that essentially the insoluble lipids (L) on the upper surface (56) of the rising blood (B) are removed from the blood (B), leaving behind essentially aqueous components of the blood (B). Clots, bone debris and the like are also removed from the blood (B) using a filter (54). |
