Disclosed are synergistic therapeutic compositions of synergistic combinations of organic and biological compounds which inhibit the possession and / or complement immunosuppressive activity, and their therapeutic applications. The organic compounds of the invention are compounds which exhibit immunosuppressive and / or anti-inflammatory activity. Such organic compounds include, inter alia, K-76, K-76 COOH and their synthetic derivatives and analogues, antimetabolites, antimitotic drugs, cyclosporine, steroids and non-steroidal anti-inflammatory agents. In a particular aspect, the organic compounds of the invention comprise substituted dihydrobenzofurans, substituted and unsubstituted spirobenzofurans-2 (3H) -cycloalkanes, and their open chain intermediates which exhibit such inhibitory activity. The biological compounds of the invention are complement receptors or fragments of these receptors and soluble members of the complement receptor family which contain the conserved SCR motif and which can inhibit the activity of the complement. Biological compounds exhibit at least one of the functions associated with complement receptors and / or proteins containing SCR. The invention relates to the use of mixtures of these compounds for the therapy of immune and / or inflammatory problems. |
