abstract In the method for sterilizing liquid packs (27), they are brought into a lock chamber (4), exposed to a sterilizing medium there and removed after sterilization. In order to make this method more reliable and to remove it completely from the packaging after the sterilizing agent has been applied, without the consumption becoming too great, it is provided that at least two packs (27) are simultaneously introduced into the lock space (4) from there the inlet position (1) is moved intermittently via at least two intermediate positions (II-V) to an execution position (VI), the rest times being in the respective positions (I-VI) such that the sterilizing medium is added to at least one intermediate position (II) and is discharged and the sterilizing medium is removed from the packaging in at least one of these (II) intermediate positions (III-V). The lock chamber (4) is formed by a stationary, closed drum (3) with a cylindrical drum wall (5), and a star (8) with a hub, which is driven intermittently around an axis (9) mounted centrally in the drum (3), serves as the conveyor and N radially projecting from this outwardly receiving receptacles (13).
