Method of liquid sterilization |
abstract |
Method for sterilizing medical devices using a solution of polyepoxy compounds, in particular glycidyl ethers such as those registered under the brand name Denacol R. These polyepoxy compounds are particularly effective at concentrations as low as those between 2 and 4 percent in volume in the aqueous solution for the purpose of sterilizing biological medical devices, such as heart valves or vascular grafts, without causing damage to the implant tissues and without leaving residues on the device, residues which would be toxic to the patient's tissue. |
