titleOfInvention Process for treatment of contaminated wastewater or groundwater
abstract Process for treating wastewater or groundwater contaminated with organic chemicals containing nitrocompounds, so as to decompose the compound sufficiently to allow the discharge of wastewater or groundwater. Said method comprises (a) bringing the pH to a level which is different from the pKa of said compound of the order of U 3 pH units; and (b) treating said waste or ground water with an agent generating hydroxyl radicals (for example ozone).
