The invention relates to a new process for the production of the disodium salt hemiheptahydrate of ceftriaxone by reacting 7-amino-3-{[(2,5-dihydro-6-hydroxy-2-methyl-5-oxo-1,2,4-triazin-3-yl)t hio]methyl}-3-cephem-4-carboxylic acid with 2-(2-aminothiazol-4-yl)-2-syn-methoximinoacetic acid-(2-benzthiazolyl)thiolester in the presence of a base, characterized in that the reaction and the crystallization of the disodium salt hemiheptahydrate of ceftriaxone are carried out in aqueous acetone. |
