abstract Dynamic coating buffer useful for analyzing samples with open tube capillary electrophoresis techniques in which untreated fused silicon dioxide capillary columns are used. The dynamic coating buffer includes at least one agent having at least two dissociation constants, high ionic strength characteristics, a molarity range of between about 0.2 M and about 1.0 M, and a pH range of between about 3.0 and 11.0. A more preferred dynamic coating buffer contains 0.5 M sodium phosphate.
