Transparent, infrared-reflecting materials with a sun-protecting and heat-insulating action, such as plates, webbed plates or light domes, having a transmission in the visible region (T) from 45 to 75%, a total transmissivity (g) of 30 to 60% and a T/g ratio of > 1.15 can be produced from a stiff, amorphous base material of transparent plastic and a transparent coating material containing 20 to 40% by weight of red- and infrared-reflecting particles, which consist of a 60 to 120 nm thick layer of titanium dioxide on a platelet-shaped carrier pigment, by co-extrusion or coating, the infrared-reflecting particles in a 5 to 40 micrometres thick coating layer, adhering to the base material, of a transparent, water-insoluble binder being aligned parallel to the surface. |
