abstract The present invention relates to a process for the preparation of 8-N,N-dialkylaminotricyclo[5.2.1.0<2,6>]decane by reacting tricyclo[5.2.1.0<2,6>]decane-8(9)-one with an amine of the formula HNR1R2 in which R1 and R2 represent an alkyl radical having 1 to 6 carbon atoms, using hydrogen under elevated pressure and at elevated temperature in the presence of a platinum-containing supported catalyst.
