| abstract | The invention relates to a protective device (1) for the ears of the type comprising two ear protectors (2, 3) which cover the respective ears of the person wearing the device, and a headband (6) or device analog that connects earmuffs and earmuff mounts. The mounts (2', 3') of the respective earmuffs have a convex outer surface and are preferably provided with elements for retaining a ring (8) which surrounds the respective ear, and a telephone receiver (10) is enclosed in at least one earmuff (3) to produce received information (14) through infrared radiation. The earmuff mount is fabricated from a plastic material that is at least transparent to infrared radiation, and one or more infrared radiation receiving diodes (14) is/are mounted on or adjacent to the surface internal (3c) of the earmuff and its frame. |
