titleOfInvention Therapeutic composition for sustained release of magnesium
abstract The present invention relates to a new therapeutic composition useful with respect to magnesium deficiencies to release the magnesium which it contains, slowly and continuously at the enteral level, said composition being characterized in that it comprises a mixture comprising , in association with a physiologically acceptable excipient, (a) 4 to 14 parts by weight of magnesium coming from a magnesium source constituted by MgO, MgCl2 and the magnesium chloride hydrates of formula MgCl2, nH2O where n is an integer or fractional greater than 0 and less than or equal to 6, and (B) 6 to 13 parts by weight of a hydrophilic polymer, when the source of Mg is MgO, or 10 to 30 parts by weight of a hydrophobic substance chosen from the assembly consisting of physiologically acceptable hydrophobic polymers, fatty acid esters and their mixtures, when the source of Mg is different from MgO, the Mg content in said mixture being between 5 and 60% by weight relative to the weight of said mixture.
