Vinyl compounds of formula (I), in which R denotes an alkyl or alkenyl residue of 1 to 15 carbon atoms, unsubstituted, substituted in a single bond, by CN or CF3, or at least in a single bond, with a halogen , however that in these residues, one or more CH2 groups can be replaced, each independently of the others, by -O-, -S-, (alpha), -CO-, -CO-O-, -O-CO- or -O-CO-O-, so that the atoms of O are not directly linked to each other, A1 and A2 each represent, independently of one another: a) a trans-1,4- residue cyclohexylene, in which one or more non-neighboring CH2 groups can be replaced by -O- and / or by -S-, b) a 1,4-phenylene residue, in which one or two CH groups can be replaced by N, c ) a residue from the 1,4-cyclohexenylene, 1,4-bicyclo (2,2,2) -octylene, piperidine-1,4-diyl, naphthaline-2,6-diyl, decahydronaphthaline-2,6-diyl group and 1,2,3,4-tetrahydronaphthalin-2,6-diyl, the residues a) and b) possibly being be substituted by a CN or by a fluorine; Z1 and Z2 each independently of one another represent -CO-O-, -O-CO-, -CH2O-, -OCH2-, -CH2CH2-, -CH = CH-, -C = C- or a single bond, one of the residues Z1 and Z2 also being - (CH2) 4- or -CH = CH-CH2CH2-, Q represents a single bond, -O-, -CH2-CH2-, -C = C -, trans-CH = CH-, -COO- or -CH2O-, X1 denotes H, F or Cl, X2 denotes F, Cl, CF3 or SF5, Y denotes H, F, or Cl, r is between 0 and 4, n is 0 or 1, and m is 0, 1, 2 or 3, provided that in the case where Y is an H and Q is a single bond, X1 and X2 represent a Cl. These compounds suitable as constituents used in the composition of liquid crystal media. |
