THE REDUCTION OF NON-SPECIFIC AMPLIFICATION DURING $i(IN VITRO) NUCLEIC ACID AMPLIFICATION USING MODIFIED NUCLEIC ACID BASES |
abstract |
Improved methods of nucleic acid amplification can reduce non-specific amplification and minimize the contaminating effects of nucleic acid amplification reaction assays due to amplified products from previous amplifications. These methods consist of introducing unconventional nucleotide bases into the amplification reaction products and treating the products with enzymatic (e.g. glycosylases) and / or physical-chemical elements so that the product is incapable of act as a matrix in subsequent amplifications. |
