titleOfInvention | SUPPLY DEVICE WITH PROTECTIVE SLEEVE. |
abstract | The present invention relates to an active agent delivery device, more particularly to a device which includes a sleeve for protecting the delivery device against mechanical transitional forces. Said device is robust and resistant to mechanical transitional forces. A fluid absorption delivery device (10) is disclosed comprising a housing (11) which has an interior compartment (18), said housing having a first wall section (12a) which substantially restricts the passage of fluid into the chamber. delivery device (10), that is, substantially impermeable to fluids, and which contains a beneficial agent (20); a second wall section (12b) which allows the passage of the fluid in the delivery device (10), i.e. it is permeable to the fluids, and which contains at least one expandable drive element (25); an output device (13); with a sleeve member (30) which extends from the first wall section (12a) of the housing (11) to cover and protect the second wall section (12b) of the housing (11) and the junction of the first and second sections. The protective sleeve (30) preferably has a configuration in which the flow of fluid or fluid vapors encounter virtually no resistance when passing through the second fluid permeable wall section (12b). |
