titleOfInvention | Immunogenic recombinant strains of b. anthracis and immunogenic compositions containing same |
abstract | The invention relates to a recombinant strain of B. anthracis, characterized: by its ability to induce, in an animal or human host, the production of protective antibodies against virulent strains of B. anthracis, the mutation of the plasmid pX01 of at least a given gene encoding a protein responsible for a toxic effect in B. anthracis, this mutation resulting in: the deletion of all or part of this gene encoding a protein responsible for a toxic effect and, the insertion at the level of the deletion site of this gene in pX01, of a DNA cassette allowing the selection of the strain thus modified and preventing the reversion of the recombinant strain, the gene thus mutated then either lacking the capacity to produce the protein responsible for the toxic effect for which it codes, is capable of coding for a truncated protein devoid of its toxic character. The invention also relates to the use of such a strain in immunogenic compositions. |
