titleOfInvention Process for dewatering of sludge and use of the dewatered concentrated product as soil improver and fertiliser
abstract The invention relates to a method for dewatering liquid sludge by treating the sludge with precipitation additives. The sludge is treated with additives that contain at least one magnesium compound and optionally one or more phosphates. This conditioning partially or largely precipitates the ammonium contents as magnesium ammonium phosphate. The pre-conditioned sludge is then dewatered on a dewatering unit. A filtrate with reduced nutrient load and a dewatered sludge aggregate with increased nutrient supply are withdrawn from the dewatering device. The filtrate is fed to a sewage treatment plant and can be treated for the further precipitation of ammonium using the CAFR process.
