Fire barrier composition in the form of a zinc containing magnesium oxychloride cement. The composition is characterized by a longer shelf life as well as a reduction in heat splinters when applied to a substrate as a coating. This fire barrier composition can be used to flame retard a flammable substrate and to encapsulate lead-based paint. |
