titleOfInvention | Magnetic recording medium manufacturing method |
abstract | The present invention forms non-magnetic particles in a nacicular shape as dispersed in a dispersoid liquid, forms a nlower non-magnetic layer by coating the above-mentioned ndispersoid liquid on a continually transported non-magnetic nsupporting base, forms an upper magnetic layer by coating the nabove-mentioned magnetic coating liquid in dual layers either nconsecutively or at the same time while the lower layer is nstill in its wet state, and performs an orientation of the nmagnetic particles by exposing the particles to a magnetic nfield while the dual layers as thus formed are still in their nundried state. The orientation effect is achieved by making nthe specific gravity of the non-magnetic particles equal to or ngreater than that of the magnetic particles. The orientation neffect is further enhanced by making the particle size of the nnon-magnetic particles equal to or less than that of the nmagnetic particles as measured along the long axis of the nmagnetic particles. |
