METHOD AND COMPOSITION FOR TREATING THROMBOSIS. |
abstract |
Cyclic peptides are described which inhibit platelet aggregation without causing prolonged bleeding time. Cyclized RGD or KGD peptides containing hydrophobic halves have been developed next to the carboxy terminus of the RGD sequence, as well as peptides of this kind also containing a positively charged half next to said hydrophobic half. These peptides have a high affinity for the IIb / IIIa receptor and a low affinity for the fibronectin and vitronectin receptors. These peptides can be administered in a suitable physiologically acceptable carrier in order to carry out a therapeutic treatment of thrombosis. |
