IMPROVED PROCESS FOR PURIFYING RECOMBINANT PROTEINS AND METHODS USEFUL THEREIN. |
abstract |
Recombinant fusion proteins comprising a biologically active polypeptide moiety and a metal chelating peptide. The fusion proteins contain metal chelating peptides having at least three and preferably six alternating histidine residues. The invention also relates to fusion proteins containing metal chelating peptides, which constitute substrates for dipeptidyl peptidase I. In addition, the invention relates to a method of obtaining the desired polypeptides by producing recombinant fusion proteins and by purification of the latter using immobilized metal ions. Furthermore, the invention relates to a material for purifying the desired polypeptides. |
