A strip (20) is folded back on itself and sealed transversely. The strip is cut into individual bags (26) which are conveyed in clamp units (35), on an endless conveyor, each provided with a fixed front jaw (171) and a movable rear jaw (173), which tighten the front and rear edges of the bags. In order to open a bag, the rear jaw (173) is moved towards the fixed jaw (171) by a cam (231) and it is held in position by friction. Each open bag is transported around a filling unit (40) where it is filled. Then, a cam causes the spacing of said jaws, stretching the mouth of the bag, where it is sealed in a heat-sealing unit. |
