titleOfInvention Device for measuring at least one gaseous concentration level in particular the oxygen concentration level in blood
abstract The device has a sensor (23) intended for application to the living body (1) and light-radiating means (27), in order in a light-radiating region to radiate light out of the sensor (23) and into the body (1). The sensor (23) has a plurality of light-receiving regions serving to receive light back-scattered in the body, which are at different distances from the light-radiating region. Furthermore, light-receiving means (29) are present in order to measure the intensities of the light back-scattered from the body (1) and passing into the sensor (23) in the various light-receiving regions. The device further has electronic circuit means which in the case of measurement select an assessment region on the basis of a prescribed criterion from the light-receiving regions and evaluate the component, varying with time periodically in the pulse frequency cycle, of the light detected in the assessment region for the purpose of determining at least one gas saturation, in particular the oxygen saturation of blood. n<IMAGE>
