abstract In the process for the purification of organopolysiloxanes, the organopolysiloxanes are treated with elemental metal after their production. This removes production-related impurities that cause color changes, especially when stored in heat, after-clouding, inhibition of catalysts, poor heat stability, poor dielectric strength or odor formation, especially after exposure to light.
