titleOfInvention | Crf analogs |
abstract | CRF analogs, based on rCRF, oCRF, waterfowl and alpha-helical CRF, which can be administered to achieve a marked elevation in the levels of ACTH, beta-endorphin, beta-lipotropin, other pro gene products -opiomelanocortin and corticosterone and / or to increase blood pressure for an extended period. An analog which has been found to be particularly effective is: HD-Pro-Pro-Ile-Ser-Leu-Asp-Leu-Thr-D-Phe-His-Leu-Leu-Arg-Glu-Val-Leu-Glu-Nle -Ala-Arg-Ala-Glu-Gln-Leu-Ala-Gln-Gln-Ala-His-Ser-Asn-Arg-Lys-CML-Nle-Glu-Ile-Ile-NH2. In analogs of 41-residue natural polypeptides, one or more of the first six N-terminated residues can be deleted and / or the N-terminated amino alpha group can be acylated with an acylating agent containing up to 7 atoms carbon. A number of other substitutions can also be made in the chain. These analogs or their pharmaceutically or veterinary acceptable salts, dispersed in a pharmaceutically or veterinary acceptable liquid or solid carrier, can be administered to mammals, and even to human beings. These analogs can be used as stimulants to improve mood, memory and study ability as well as for diagnostic purposes. |
