A process makes it possible to produce a multilayer coating, the aqueous composition of which forms the upper layer contains a water-dilutable polyacrylate resin having a hydroxyl number between 40 and 200, an acid number between 20 and 100 and a glass transition temperature (TG) of between -40 ° C and +60 ° C. In order to produce the water-dilutable polyacrylate resin, a mixture (I) of a (meth) acrylic acid ester, of a copolymerizable monomer containing hydroxyl groups and, if appropriate, of another monomer is added. ethylenically unsaturated with an organic solvent and it is polymerized radically, then a mixture of a monomer containing carboxyl groups and a monomer devoid of carboxyl groups is added thereto, once the addition of mixture (1) is completed, and the polymerization is continued. |
