titleOfInvention METHOD FOR PRODUCING HEART CUT DISTILLATE HEAT PRECURSOR.
abstract A two-step process for manufacturing large quantities of core distillate resin precursors from a steam-cracked gas oil product which includes hydrogenation of the steam-cracked gas oil, followed by steam cracking of the hydrogenated product to produce a yield of greater than 15% by weight of core fraction distillate resin precursors. A process for the manufacture of a heart fraction distillate comprising the hydrogenation of a hydrocarbon oil composed of two-ringed aromatic molecules to form a hydrogenated hydrocarbon oil composed of partially saturated naphtheno-aromatic molecules. The process also comprises subjecting a substrate composed of hydrogenated hydrocarbon oil to steam cracking under conditions favorable to the production of a heart fraction distillate containing a yield amount greater than about 4% by weight of resin precursors at heart fraction distillate. A method of producing a heart fraction distillate comprises subjecting a hydrogenated hydrocarbon substrate, which boils at about 200°C to 320°C, to steam cracking under conditions favorable to the production of a distillate containing a quantity core fraction distillate (HCD) resin precursors in yield greater than about 4% by weight. A method of producing a core fraction distillate comprises subjecting a steam cracked gas oil product (SCGD) and treated with water to steam cracking under conditions favorable to the production of a distillate containing an amount of precursors core fraction distillate resin (HCD) whose yield is greater than 4% by weight.
