titleOfInvention Process and device for reducing NOx emissions
abstract A method for reducing the NO x emissions in the thermal conversion (combustion) of nitrogenous fuels or in the reduction of nitrogen oxide-containing exhaust gases or vapors provides for a step-by-step reaction, with a reduction in all existing or forming NO x components in the first step substoichiometric fuel-oxygen ratio and in a subsequent second stage or in subsequent stages an after-reaction is carried out until all oxidizable reaction components have been completely converted. To accelerate the reaction, it is proposed that in at least one of the reaction stages the reactants are additionally activated by activation regenerators which statically mix the reactants with one another and contribute to the heat flow compensation. To carry out the method, a furnace is provided which has a regenerator wall with through openings in the interior.
