abstract Emulsion graft copolymers composed of a) 2 to 10% by weight of a core of 80 to 99.99% by weight, methyl methacrylate (I), 0.01 to 5% by weight, allyl methacrylate (II), 0 to 19, 99% by weight, further monofunctional comonomers (III) and; 0 to 3% by weight, further di- or polyfunctional comonomers (IV), b) 15 to 50% by weight of a first shell of 60 to 89.99% by weight, an acrylic acid C1-C20-alkyl ester ( V), 10 to 39.99% by weight of a vinyl aromatic monomer (VI), 0.01 to 5% by weight, II, 0 to 10% by weight, I and / or III, 0 to 3% by weight .-%, IV, c) 5 to 20 wt .-% of a second shell in a composition specified under (a), d) 15 to 50 wt .-% of a third shell in a composition specified under (b), e) 15 to 30% by weight of a fourth shell of 80 to 99.95% by weight, I, 0.05 to 2% by weight, of a regulator (VII) and; 0 to 19.95% by weight, III. These emulsion graft copolymers are suitable as additives for increasing the impact strength of thermoplastic compositions.
