A superconductive material has the formula n n n n (Tl 1-X1-X2 Pb X1 Bi X2 ) α (Sr 1-X3 Ba X3 ) β Ca γ Cu δ O ξ n n n nwhere n n 0 ≦ X1 ≦ 0.8 n 0 ≦ X2 ≦ 0.5 n 0 ≦ X3 ≦ 1.0 n 0.7 ≦ α ≦ 1.5 n 1.4 ≦ β ≦ 3.0 n 0.7 ≦ γ ≦ 4.5 n 1.4 ≦ δ ≦ 6 n 4.5 ≦ ξ ≦ 17 n 0 < X1 + X2 < 1. n n The superconducting material may be combined with an isostructural non-superconducting material, which then acts as a pinning center. The result may also be combined with a metal. The resulting superconductor permits a high critical current density Jc to be obtained,even at relatively high magnetic flux densities. |
