abstract | A chemical, biochemical or biological reaction or production is carried out in a loop reactor, in which immiscible phases are produced or introduced, respectively, so that at each cyclic passage in the loop, all or almost all the contents of the reactor pass through a centrifugal separator in order to produce at least two fractions having different contents of at least two immiscible phases, one of said fraction remaining in the loop while the other is drained out of said loop. In a loop reactor allowing the implementation of the process, a centrifugal separator constitutes an integral part of said loop. |
