titleOfInvention METHOD FOR PRODUCING RIBONUCLEASE DIMERS.
abstract A process for the preparation of purified ribonuclease dimers comprising the steps of dimerization of monomeric ribonuclease with a suberidated coupling reagent, the separation by filtration of the monomers and non-dimerized oligmers from the dimer solution by means of a series of chromatography methods by ion exchange resin, control of the progress of the reaction by gel electrophoresis and recovery of the purified ribonuclease dimer product. This method has advantages because large quantities of the dimer product can be obtained efficiently and at relatively reduced costs and the ribonuclease dimers thus produced can be used for their beneficial effects against viral and bacterial infections without the cytotoxic effects normally. associated with the ribonuclease monomer.
