abstract Compounds of formula (I): in which: R represents a higher alkyl group, 1- (higher alkyl) cycloalk-1-yl lower, upper alkenyl comprising one or more double bonds, and either R 3 represents a hydroxy, R 1 and R 2 , different, represent a hydrogen or a lower alkyl, R 4 and R 5, identical or different, represent an alkyl or a lower alkoxy, is R 1 and R 4 represent a hydroxy group and R 2 , R 3 , R 5 , identical or different, represent an alkyl or a lower alkoxy, their isomers and their salts.n n n The derivatives are endowed on the one hand with an inhibitory activity of acyl CoA-cholesterol-acyltransferase (ACAT) and on the other hand with an ability to protect low density human lipoproteins ensuring the transport of cholesterol (LDL ) vis-à-vis the oxidative modifications induced by copper.n n n Pharmaceutical co-compositions useful for the treatment of dyslipidemias and atherosclerosis.
