titleOfInvention Process for metallising surfaces using metal powder
abstract The application of the process described in the invention results in the surface metallization of dielectric materials. This method comprises a first step in which a metallic powder, the grain size of which is between 10 and 5000 nm, is deposited, then incorporated into the surface of the dielectric material. In the second step of the process, the dielectric material thus impregnated with metal is immersed in an autocatalytic bath, which causes the areas impregnated with the material to be covered with a layer of the metal contained in the bath according to a thickness proportional to the immersion time. The process described in the invention also makes it possible to metallize materials such as oxides, polymers and composites containing these oxides and / or these polymers. The characteristics of the metallic deposits are controlled by the type of metal, the size and the geometry of the grains of metallic powder on the one hand, by the type and the structure of the dielectric materials covered with these deposits, on the other hand.
