abstract |
Sustained flavor release composition, used in a chewable structure. The flavoring release composition essentially comprises a homogeneous dispersion of a liquid flavoring agent and a polyvinylacetate having an average molecular weight of between about 150,000 and about 200,000 daltons. The weight ratio between the liquid flavoring agent and the polyvinylacetate is between 1: 5 and about 5: 1, respectively. One method of producing the flavor release composition is by mixing the polyvinyl acetate, dissolved in a non-reactive volatile organic solvent, with the flavor release agent at a temperature at which the latter does not degrade. Then the solvent is removed. The chewable structure includes the flavor release composition as well as a gum base composition. |
